We are happy to announce that we have a winner to our 'Battle For The Universe" between Kayo Da Beast and Drewski Money. We definitely appreciate the votes and because of the amount of the feedback from the battle, we will be continuing this soon; but not only with musicians; but models, comedians, animators and more.

Without any further ado, the winner is... KAYO DA BEAST!!!!! We're not going to get into the number of votes that sealed the victory... suffice it to say it was a cose but well fought victory.

Now please believe Kayo will be giving us an interview more sooner than later, that you'll be able to watch on the wearetheu.com website, but in the meantime and between time, here's some info on your chosen champion, Kayo Da Beast.

Kayo (Born Khalif Rashid Brooks) was born on December 17, 1991 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is the youngest of seven children. Kayo spent seven years in Philadelphia and in the beginning of those seven years he faced a hardship that no child could be prepared for. At age two he and his siblings sadly suffered the loss of his mother.

Not only did he lose his mother but that same year his father was sent to prison. These unfortunate events caused him and his siblings to be split up in to different homes. At age seven he and his new family moved from Philadelphia and relocated to St. Petersburg, FL. In 2010, at the age eighteen, Kayo Da Beast Was fortunate enough to find his talent with words. He began to record songs as a hobby, but over time it became a passion that today he is still pursuing full time.

Some of his biggest influences are Lauryn Hill, Ludacris, T.I., Jeezy, Drake, J.cole, Trick Daddy and Kendrick Lamar, and he is yet gaining more each day as he studies the hip hop culture.

With pure talent and skill that is still developing Kayo brings to the hip hop world a sound of Pain, Hope and Truth. He has stated that his name KAYO stands for "Knowledge Above Your Opression", and he "plans" to give the world hope through the knowledge he has gained.

Throughout the course of his musical career, Kayo Da Beast has won over the hearts of music lovers from all walks of life. Performing at a variety of venues, making dozens of appearances, all the while recording new singles, Kayo Da Beast has earned the admiration and affection of countless fans, serving as both inspiration and role model.
